Started it a while ago, and still haven't even finished the first song. Call that being lazy Razz

I was just looking at that blog. I wanted to join but I think it's a little far unfortunately. And I'm not sure if you want a minor in your band Wink Right now I'm looking for people to jam with for my project - my goal is to get a gig next year. I'm also trying to grow my fanbase (which as you can see is reeeeally small), but I think a bit more music making is involved there Rolling Eyes

I don`t know if your intrested but, I done the catering for this little get together,
It`s a gig for new bands, held every year. There is two sections, the first three hours
is the really new bands I.E. this lot. Then the pro artists, this year they had some hip hop
dude who had worked with Craig David and others.
The first band on was four 12 year olds with a 10 year old guitarist, they were bloody good. It was a really good day, it starts at 1pm and finishes at 8pm.
Its held in the grounds of a Massive Church in London Colney near St.Albans
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HbUMl8kqgKc
This is the Marquee tent that the bands perfomed in.
95% of the crowd were aged about 13 to 16.
A good place to do your first gig next year. Rolling Eyes

My friends band. As you can see on their Myspace they're not exactly hugely popular, and have only toured a few places in Finland. Last night they added a new song to their profile "Sacred Betrayal", and i just love it! They're a young band, the eldest members are 20 years old, but they're starting to sound very good.

Oh, and their new demo was mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios. That's pretty impressive if you ask me! Smile

I personally think Crimson Sun have got a huge future in front of them.
I`ll be keeping an eye on them to see the snowball grow.
What is in the water over there, Finland just keeps producing
these unbelievable bands, Shocked and you keep finding them Surprised
But thats what i was hoping for with this thread, great new "n" old bands.
BTW I noticed on your My/Space site you listed Queen. they were the first band I ever saw live. Welsh band The Alarm were second on that day after INXS
Wembley Stadium july 86 I still remember it like it was yesterday. Confused

Yeah, Finland produces so many great bands! Usually in interviews they say "theirs nothing else to do here apart from make music and get drunk". So theirs your official explaination! Wink

I grew up listening to my Dad's Queen and Pink Floyd records, so those 2 are definitely amongst my favourite ever bands. I never saw Queen live, though my first ever gig was Brian May at Cardiff Ice Rink in 1993. You went to the Wembley 86 show?? My Dad bought me the video when i was little. Amazing concert!

The live vid was filmed on the 12th of July because it was the only date announced at first.
Then they added the 11th. So although I saw it first it got none of the publicity.
As a Virgin first time gig goer this P***ed me off just a little.
Queen was also the band that lead me down that long dark road to Metal.
I`m still walking it and in the last 6 months it got intresting again.
Nightwish was the only thing to grace my Hi-Fi for about 4 years, now my taste buds have been awakened by all these fantastic bands. Basicly started on that
wonderful night (TARJA+PYTHIA) in December.
AND NOW Amberian Dawn,Epica,Sirenia,Within Temptation,Silentium,
Mediaeval Baebes are all fighting for my attention, it`s great.

For those of you who like heavy rock/metal in the vein of Black Sabbath but with prog elements, check out 7th Floor

http://www.myspace.com/7thfloorband

They have a female vocalist which makes it all even more interesting. Some songs can take a while to get used to, but if you keep listening you'll see how much musical genius there is, and how bone-crunchingly heavy they can be.
