O.K. Leighton,
For their debut album, this is a quality effort, that is full of promise for the future.
Top quality song writting, the music is absolutly killer.
The only thing I`m not totally sure about are Heidi`s vocals.
She seems unwilling to come out of her comfort zone.
She does`nt push her range at all, whether this is her , or the producer is`nt sure
what to do with this opera style, I dont know. But she sounds know different on any of the ten tracks her voice is on. strange.
I`m sure I will probably get kicked all over this thread for daring to be critical.
Of course it does`nt mean I`m right, it`s only my opinion.
But I`m not giving up on it, I suppose, listening to so many other things at the same time,
I`m probably subconscously comparing with the likes of Epica, Sirenia Etc.
Which would`nt be fair. _________________ A PYTHIAN TILL I DIE

Glad you liked the album! And i understand what you're saying about Heidi's vocals. She can only get stronger with every album. Like Carmen from Midnattsol i guess. I thought she sounded a bit weak on their debut, but so much stronger on their latest album.
But still... Amberian Dawn are ones for the future!

I like this album a lot.
I'm glad as well as Tommi (the bassist) is a friend of mine so it would have been kinda awkward if it was rubbish!
But yeah i think its really good, songs are great, album is well produced and played and i personnaly like the fact that her vocals are kinda samey sound and key wise as it reminds me of early nightwish before they went all poppy,
Seen em live and they were very tight but need to get some more energy going onstage as they were pretty static. still i know they havent done many shows yet so i expect that will come with time once they are completely familiar and confident with the material.

The supposed London gig is a highlight in the calendar of Metal already.
But if they could get another really good band on the bill, it would be a mind blowing
gig of epic proportions.
I think HeadBangingGuitarist should give Tommi a phone call and find out who`s
pencilled in for this spot, then let us know
nudge nudge. _________________ A PYTHIAN TILL I DIE

dunno if gig is 100% confirmed or on sale yet (check underworld site) but i believe Amberian Dawn are playing the Underworld later in the year and we may very well support them. It;s a little way off so dont wanna confirm ourselves yet or anything as we dont know what the future holds regarding our album etc (may be busy at that time).
But hopefully we'll get to do it (we want to and they want us to so...).

Amberian Dawn are supporting Epica on their European tour! Hopefully if things go as planned I'll be seeing Amberian Dawn twice this year! _________________ Proud Pythian!

I was actually going to see Epica in Paris My parents want to go back there and my friend might be able to get me on the guestlist so...
I don't think Epica will be coming here soon, they rescheduled all of their tourdates apart from the England ones... _________________ Proud Pythian!

Would be great to see Epica come back to the UK with Amberian Dawn supporting. Last time Epica were here they had a load of equipment nicked from them!! Not exactly the British hospitality they'll want! _________________ I've just remembered the death of love...
