Anette is an incredible singer as i found out in Manchester, and a great performer! The new songs were so good and their were many highlights. BUT... as i said in a previous post... i miss Tarja's presence too much and i just don't like to hear songs like "Dark chest of Wonders" or "Wishmaster" - to name just 2 - sung by anyone other than her. It just doesn't sound right.

Nightwish are still an incredible band and i'll keep listening to them, buying their albums, seeing them on tour... but you just can't beat the old Nightwish.

Hi Hornet

Thanks for that. I think that it is wonderful music.

Best wishes

Hi Lady Arashi

I thought that the vids were very good.

Have you ever seen Nightwish as cartoons? Well you have now.

Another band that Marco plays for now & again is DELAIN.

I think that they are very good. In fact it seems as if many top metal singers (mostly female) want to be a part of this band, as guest singers.

Anettes former band.

Alyson Avenue.

Is it just me, or is this the music to Britains last years Eurovision song contest entry?

'Flying the Flag.'

No wonder we didnt come anywhere, Most of Europe had already heard the music.
Almost 10 years before hand.

Scary

The Eurovision is always a serious source of embarrassment for the UK. Andy Abraham is an old customer of my work, shame the song he's singing for the UK this year is so rubbish. At least Eurovision '08 has Terasbetoni for Finland!!

Yeah, good shout! Terasbetoni must win that thing! Britain will never do well because no-one likes the "big 4" anymore anyway. It's all about Eastern Europe now... and Dustin the Turkey...

In the early 80s I used to buy our eurovision entry every year as an act of
solidarity. Bucks Fizz, Bardo, Belle And The Devotions. But they were
respectable groups and tracks back then.
Finland were the laughing stock then with tracks like Diggi Lou Diggi Lai.
The saying , What goes around, comes around, springs to mind.

In 2000, Nightwish put Sleepwalker up for the public vote, to be the Finish entry in Eurovision. It came second. The public with an over whelming majority, voted for it, but the panel over ruled the decision. That must of been some song aay!
So what chance do we stand of ever winning. Crying or Very sad

I went along on the tuesday and 'twas bloody good. One of the best sounds at the Astoria.... Could have been a little more METAAAAAAAAAAAAAL IMHO.
NOce to see Anette do quite a bit of the old stuff, but there was the odd occasion where she substituted Tarja's classical leanings for an almost R&B/poppy vocal. But only noticed twice or so. Big pressure gig for her, so can't complain if she had some safety notes in store. Bit like me filling in for Zakk on an Ozzy tour!!!

The main thing that inpressed me was how much fun they all seemed to be having, Emps and Marco farting about at the front and being very silly was cool, Toumas looked reasonably happy, and even laughed a couple of times!!!

Still, i miss the regality that used to come with NW, definately a different band now. Thouroughly enjoyed the gig (and the copious amouts of booze!).

Hi Timbley

Marco certanly looked excited by that large bottle of Vodka at the end of the gig. Cool Laughing

I dont supose that you were standing at the back on the small step by the mixing desk by any chance?

If so I was standing right next to you
Best wishes
