Consign To Oblivion is a good album, although some songs got boring for me, like Dance of Fate and The Last Crusade. I much prefer The Phantom Agony as a whole.

Mother of Light and Consign To Oblivion are my favourite songs from CTO. My favourite songs at the moment though are Fools of Damnation and Illusive Consensus - Simone's voice is absolutely amazing in them.

The Last Crusade? Boring?? Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's one of the best! And any album that has a duet between Simone Simons and Roy Khan is worthy of praise! That includes Kamelot's "The Black Halo" and "Ghost Opera" Smile

Well, it's okay live.... Razz Yeah, I heard it live, Simone sounds really cute singing the Latin bits Razz

I actually much prefer the solo version of Trois Vierges! I'm not a fan of Khan's voice.

Not a fan of Kahn's voice??? Hmmmmm... i can't believe we're disagreeing so much this week! I think he's one of the best in the business.

As for my top 3 Epica albums...
1. Consign to Oblivion
2. The Phantom Agony
3. Divine Conspiracy

All 3 albums in my opinion are outstanding, and they all sound very different from each other. I know Em is gonna say the Phantom Agony is her favourite. I know her so well! Good choice though.

Yeah, I'd definitely say TPA Razz

1. The Phantom Agony
2. The Divine Conspiracy
3. Consign To Oblivion

That's my opinion, although I think it would be good if you did it in chronological order.

By the way, has anyone heard Web of Lies by Ayreon? Simone's featured in it. It's a very well made song, and quite funny too!

Just a little update.
I have gone totally with your opinions and ordered C.2.O. & T.D.C.
I didn`t order Phantom Agony because the cheapest copy was £17+
quids. Ouch! But I thank you both for your input guys.
Leighton, I know has an excellent ear for a good band.
And I can trust him to put me on the right line. And WelTold is very passionate about Epica, and hopefully I soon will be as well. Very Happy

On another totally differant type of music, but one we all recognise, Ive also ordered
the Medieaval Baebes Miriables ( think its called) the Amazon reviewers to a man have
all given it 5 out of 5. and I`m well looking forward to that one. Wink

Well thank you very much! Smile

I hope you enjoy the albums! If you can get the DVD called "We will take you with us" for a decent price, then it's totally worth getting! It's more or less the Phantom Agony album performed by the band in a studio for a Dutch tv show. Fantastic viewing, and comes with a CD version to tie you over until you finally purchase the album! Smile

We Will Take You With Us is indeed awesome! I've watched it about 50 times Razz I didn't get a CD with it though, so I had to ask my friend to send it to me. I love learning songs in different languages, so I fell in love with Falsches Spiel! It's also probably the reason why I know the words to so many Mediaeval Baebes songs Razz

An Epica song in Dutch would be really interesting Shocked But they'd probably never do one Sad

Dutch is the second hardest language in the world to learn, behind Chinese.
Although there are several differant Strains of Chinese. Shocked

I highly doubt that. Finnish would definitely be harder - 16 cases!

Plus I can speak a bit of Dutch myself Very Happy

Well, I`ve just had a look at some sites on this subject, and it depends where you come from Rolling Eyes For the English speaking nations, it would appear that Japanese, Chinease and Arabic are very difficult, although Finnish does get a mention on one site.
Where as English is the most difficult for those three nations. Confused
Dutch actually seems to be one of the easiest to learn for English speakers.
So what the Hell do I know? Rolling Eyes
Music, Sax, Violence and football.
Every nation on Earth knows these languages.
So I think I`ll stick to them Embarassed
